Spa furniture good for the soul
Relax, revive, unwind – soft perfumed air, gentle sounds and a body massaged into a blissful trance mean you are happily ensconced in a luxury spa. The best spas make creating a seductive and rejuvenating environment seem easy, but there is a true art to selecting the right, low-key lighting and the kind of ultra-comfortable furniture that your body melts into almost without noticing it’s there.

Tribù outdoor furniture has been selected for use in some of Europe’s leading spas both for its elegance and timeless design and also for the very qualities that make it ideal for outdoor use: it’s strength and resistance to corrosive environments. Tribù’s insistence on the highest quality finish and construction means its furniture is immensely resilient. It meets rigorous hygiene standards and doesn’t absorb creams, essential oils or perfumes, keeping it neat treatment after treatment.

For example, the teak that Tribù uses in its Pure Sofa (featured at Schloss Elmau spa in the German Alps), Kos Lounger (Four Seasons Hotel Toronto) and Vis à Vis Lounger (Les Cures Marines, Trouville) is grown sustainably in plantations in Java and is hand-selected as it is felled. The natural decay resistance of teak wood makes it a highly durable choice as well as for outdoor usage as for environments with a high degree of air humidity. All hardware is of marine quality (316 stainless steel) and is electropolished, making the surface sterile smooth. This prevents attachment of pollution and products as well as bacterial accumulation.

Fitting seamlessly into their modernist settings, the Neutra Easy Chair (Hotel Julien, Antwerp) and Mirthe Easy Chair (Hotel Le Val Thorens) are designed around strong, slimline aluminium with a highly durable polyester powder coating. Collections that consist of high pressure injected aluminium, such as Neutra, even have a double powder coating (epoxy primer + polyester) for extra protection against corrosion and other environmental influences. Batyline high-tech fabric is used for the smooth sling seats, which are water resistant and keep their tensile shape.
Who knew that even the furniture in a spa could make you feel wonderful?
