Son Paraiba family retreat, Son Vida, Palma

placed under projects

Oasis is the word interior designer Mariana Muñoz uses to describe the Son Paraiba family house and garden she designed in Son Vida near Palma. Her Mallorca-based company, Terraza Balear, is known for its subtle, restful interiors that connect with their natural settings. Terraza Balear’s attention to quality and detail inside and out makes it an ideal partner for Tribù – Mariana and her team chose pieces from five different Tribù collections to furnish the pool and garden terraces.

The striking, modernist house, designed by another Mallorcan firm, Jorge Bibiloni Studio, fills the interiors with light from floor-to-ceiling doors and windows. Each frames a view over cypress trees and the lush gardens. The pale stone and wood interiors pick up the softest blue-greens from the garden beyond.

Outside, Tribù’s slimline Neutra adjustable loungers in white make a crisp contrast with the sea-green swimming pool. “The Neutra sun loungers also repeat the rectangular form of the building’s architectural elements,” says Mariana. Pairs of Drops side tables in linen tone perfectly with the stone pool terrace.

Sea breezes sway the long line of grasses that divide the pool from the main terrace, which is divided into seating areas. Near the house, Mariana and her team chose Natal Alu sofas. “The Natal Alu Sofa is a very clean seating system. It gives a good authentic base to the quite complex terrace, which has many different zones.” Natal Alu generous armchairs and Branch low tables create an elegant outdoor room that reflects the colours and relaxed, minimal style of the interior.

A CTR meridienne shows perfect attention to detail in the linen weave frame and the pale, silvery-green linen chosen for the cushion covers. With a palette of fabrics, weaves and textures inspired by nature, Tribù seating and cushion covers complement any garden setting under the sun, putting you at your ease in your own private oasis.
